Understanding Numbers
Persons with a non-finance background tend to concentrate on the technical and marketing aspects of the running of a business and neglect finance management, often to their great peril.
Senior managers and decision makers, to be effective, must master the strategic aspects of finance to be able to not only evaluate past performance but also to plan for future growth.
The ability to understand the financial implication of every action on the organization’s bottom-line and then to ensure that only those actions are taken that strengthen the profitability and avoid doing those that hurt it is what finance management is all about. And this responsibility runs across the organization and is not the sole preserve of the finance or accounts department.
The programme is modelled keeping non-finance persons in mind using jargon-free, user-friendly language.
